This beautiful and hot Mexican model, singer and actress is known as the Mexican queen of the soup operas (telenovelas). Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez is born on September 2, 1966 in Mexico.

She was raised in a wealthy and traditional Mexican family and had a good but challenging childhood due to her dyslexia. This however didn't stop her from working hard and achieving the world fame.

In 2007 a poll (done in United States) found Hayek to be the "sexiest celebrity" out of 3,000 celebrities. In 2008, Entertainment Weekly ranked Hayek number 15 in their list of the "25 Smartest People in TV, and The Hollywood Reporter ranked Hayek fourth in their list of the most powerful members of the Hollywood Latino community.

Interesting thing is that Mexican actress Salma Hayek is the first Mexican national to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Also, she won numerous prestige awards during her rich acting career which lasts for some 20 years. Of course there are many more Salma Hayek's years to come.
