Most of Mexicans speak Spanish however there are also sixty two native languages that are still alive and spoken by Mexican people that live in rural areas.

Interesting thing is that even though the great majority of Mexicans declare themselves as Christians and they speak Spanish there is neither official religion nor official language in Mexico. This civil liberties and democratic way of living is guarantied to all Mexican people by their Constitution of 1917 and the anti-clerical laws that imposed limitations on the church.
Family is the most important institution in Mexico which is why family always comes first to all Mexicans. Mexicans are well aware of the fact that the strong, united and loving family is the best social support and one of the most important preconditions to the healthy, stress-free, and fulfilling life.
Unfortunately even Mexicans are not immune to the phenomena called "globalization" and its negative effects such as the loss of the national identity, family values (family identity), traditions, and so on. This is the reason why some Mexicans that live in the industrialized parts of Mexico such as the Mexico City tend to loose the "traditional Mexican compass" and traditional Mexican way of living.
Mexicans love to eat good food, drink high quality liquor, listen and dance to the music, and celebrate like there is no tomorrow.
The best proof of the Mexican food quality is the fact that Mexican food recipes have the constant high demand, and that millions of people around the world enjoy the authentic Mexican cuisine every day.
Mexican drink recipes also have very high demand and you would probably have great difficulty to find a bar or restaurant anywhere in the world that doesn't serve the most famous Mexican alcohol drink - Tequila, or Mexican beer (Corona, Sol, etc) or Mexican cocktails such as the Margaritas.
Another thing that numerous people enjoy around the Globe is the Mexican contagious music and its specific, exotic rhythm. Of course if you mix the good food, great drinks, "contagious" music (rhythm) and dances you will get one great party or as Mexicans call it Fiesta. This is why the Mexican fiestas are one of the most exiting and definitely memorable experiences you can have.
Mexicans are very passionate people and they tend to enjoy life to its fullest. Very good representatives of the Mexican passion are the Mexican fiestas mentioned above; sport events such as the major soccer matches that literary paralyze the entire Mexico, the Mexican dance of love, etc.
Mexicans enjoy freedom and they are very proud of their heritage and history. Mexicans love their flag and other symbols of their nationality and they are very national oriented. However that doesn't mean that they don't respect other nations. On contrary, Mexican people are famous for their hospitality and kindness.
Finally, there is a Mexican saying which describes the difference between the Mexican and Western (American, European) life style: "Americans live to work, but Mexicans work to live".
Mexican people are very religious, warm, generous, proactive, passionate, and family oriented.
About 95% of Mexicans are Christians. Most of them are Roman Catholics however there are also Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, etc.
Despite the fact that great majority of Mexicans are Christians there is no official religion in Mexico, and religion is strictly separated from the government. This and other religious freedoms are guaranteed to all Mexicans by the 1917 Constitution.

One of the most famous and most attended Mexican fiestas is the celebration of the Mexican Independence.
The passion of the Mexican men is most evident when they are trying to win the woman's heart or when they are cheering for their favorite soccer team or the Mexican national soccer team.
When there is an important international soccer match the entire Mexico is paralyzed and every Mexican is cheering for the national soccer team and praying to God for the victory.
